Dazzling in a lovely black gown, the champion was all smiles as she addressed the press one final time. It was hard to tell which one was glowing more – Emma’s joyous face or the glittering trophy next to her. Nonetheless, she opened up about the match, her opponent, what it’s like to be a Grand Slam winner, what it took, and much more. In one of the segments regarding whether or not she was influenced by what was being said, the 18-year-old quoted “I still haven’t checked my phone.”

“I have absolutely no idea what’s going on outside of our little world that we’re in here. We’ve just been in the quiet room, just enjoying the moment and taking it all in. I think today we just really need to just shut out from everything and just enjoy it as a team, because it was a team effort, I didn’t get here by myself at all. I mean every single person that’s here with me has helped me along the way and played a huge part.”
