The Grand Slam event in New York is about to start, and the tennis realm can’t keep quiet. Adding to the excitement,  Caroline Wozniacki, as a wild card participant, is all set to mark her participation at the US Open after her lengthy hiatus. In 2020, the Danish tennis star departed from the tour in order to prioritize her family. Now, after almost three seasons, making a comeback on the court at the age of 33 wasn’t an easy choice for the former Australian Open champion. Reminiscing about the same, the former world no.1 recently brought to light a heartfelt conversation with the 41-year-old tennis legend who has encouraged her throughout her comeback decision.

After three seasons and two kids, the WTA star once again marked her participation in the North American hard-court swing this season. In doing so, the Danish tennis star has now officially joined the ‘tennis moms’ club, which also includes her best friend, Serena Williams.

Notably, as she prepares to play in the U.S. Open, Wozniacki was asked if she also had any conversation with the American tennis legend prior to her comeback on the court. In an interview with TODAY, she said, “For sure, I had a full conversation with her. She was like, ‘I’m supporting you all the way, I think it’s so cool that you’re coming back’.”

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old also revealed how the former tennis star constantly texted her after her recent matches. Wozniacki said, “And yeah, she texts me after my matches that I played, just asking, ‘how you’re feeling?’ And encouraging me, it’s been really great. “

Apart from Serena, there was another person who was also supportive of the former world no.1 player’s comeback decision.
