Anna Kalinskaya may have wrapped up her 2024 season without a title win, but she’s a winner in many ways. With an impressive 38-19 record, she earned a career-high ranking of No. 11 this year. Despite suffering a left hamstring injury during her third-round match against Elena Rybakina at the Italian Open in May, which kept her out of major tournaments like the French Open and Wimbledon, she made a triumphant return at the US Open in August. Now back on the court, Kalinskaya is ready to hit the ground running as the 2025 season approaches.
On December 20, Kalinskaya shared a stunning update as she got featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. The 26-year-old looked radiant in an all-pink Dolce & Gabbana outfit, as she discussed the ups and downs of her season. From injuries to triumphs and future aspirations, she covered it all. Fans were thrilled, and even fellow WTA star Emma Raducanu couldn’t resist complimenting Anna’s looks with a simple yet effective one-word comment: “beauty.” To which, Kalinskaya playfully responded with an emoji-filled reply, “@emmaraducanu 🤗😌.”

Both these players had injury-plagued seasons this year. Raducanu faced challenges after being sidelined by a foot injury at the Korea Open. However, she returned with a bang in the Billie Jean King Cup, winning all her singles matches and showcasing her talent to captivated crowds. Although her team didn’t reach the finals, Raducanu’s performance certainly caught everyone’s attention and boosted her confidence. Kalinskaya, on the other hand, was forced to withdraw from her Wimbledon fourth-round match against Elena Rybakina after suffering a right forearm injury.

Kalinskaya views her injuries as valuable lessons though. She reflected in Harper’s Bazaar, saying, “For me, the biggest lesson came during my injury; I realized how much tennis gives me—how many emotions, routines, and connections it brings into my life. It made me love the game even more.” Now with only a few weeks left until the 2025 season kicks off, Kalinskaya is enjoying quality time with family and friends on social media looking stunning as ever. However, that doesn’t mean the Russian star isn’t putting in the work to come back stronger next year.

Her trainer, Santi Dimperio, recently posted a motivating video of Kalinskaya on Instagram, showcasing her intense workouts both in the gym and on the court. With a determined look and sweat dripping, she demonstrated her commitment to getting stronger. Dimperio captioned the post with encouragement: “Getting stronger 💪🏼 Drop the volume, increase intensity, more specific exercises on the court, getting ready … 🎾.” Kalinskaya responded enthusiastically in her Instagram story, saying, “🤸🏋️🤓 so much fun.”
Kalinskaya, however, is enjoying her time away from the court as well. Earlier this month, she celebrated with friends and was reportedly joined by her boyfriend, ATP star Jannik Sinner, who flew in after his Davis Cup tournament. After the festivities, she stepped out in style, donning a chic pink sweater over a white t-shirt, as showcased by Dafne Beauty House. With such a perfect blend of beauty and talent, it raises an interesting question: will she dazzle just as brightly in the upcoming 2025 season? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
