Interestingly, the World No.150 player has connections with both Romania and China. While her father is Romanian, her mother hails from China and both are currently working in the finance sector. Raducanu often visits Romania to meet her grandmother, and it is because of this reason that Simona Halep is her favorite tennis player and role model as well.

Raducanu’s parents moved from Canada to the United Kingdom when she was just 2-years-old. She began playing tennis at the age of five at the Bromley Tennis Academy and did her schooling at Newstead Wood School.
