Emma Raducanu is having a disappointing 2022 season by her standards. Last year, she surprised one and all with her title-winning campaign at the US Open. Entering the year-ending Grand Slam tournament as a qualifier, the British tennis star scripted a fairytale run to win her maiden Grand Slam title.
Moreover, she did it in style, without dropping a set during the tournament.

Raducanu’s preparations for this month’s Wimbledon Championships have been put in limbo. The 19-year-old has opted out of the WTA 250 Birmingham Classic after suffering a side strain at the Nottingham Open.
Earlier this week, she retired midway through the first set in her opening round clash against Viktorija Golubic in Nottingham.?
However, her scan results gave glimpses of hope as they ruled out any serious injury. Thus, Raducanu expects to be fit in time for the Eastbourne International and the Wimbledon Championships.
Raducanu had a scan last night in Nottingham that revealed nothing serious. Will spend several days off serious physical activity before returning to training.
