The first signs of love being in the air for Emma Raducanu? They started with a trip to Mexico in May 2023 for Dior’s 2024 Cruise show. Enter soccer-playing Carlos Agostinelli, son of Dior’s head of PR. The pictures they posted after the event were enough to send the rumor mill into overdrive. Add to that birthday parties, a fashion week, and a few family meet-and-greets, Raducanu and Agostinelli all but confirmed their romance. However, they’ve never gotten around to officially confirming it, and that’s only made their fans look that much deeper for easter eggs. And now, it looks like they’ve found one!

The darling of the British tennis scene and the former Harrow boarding school head boy have made several public appearances since that Dior show in May. Even so, the two sparsely appear on each other’s social media. So, even the slightest indication of online interaction is added proof that they, in fact, are a couple. While Raducanu’s Instagram is filled with frequent updates, interestingly, Carlos Agostinelli only has one post. And that post in question is what helped nearly confirm Raducanu’s relationship with the billionaire heir. 

A picture of a young Agostinelli, it shows him kicking a soccer ball, wearing an Italian National team jersey. With the caption, “Vintage 🇮🇹⚽️,” the 23-year-old posted it 439 weeks ago, on August 15, 2015. That adds up to more than eight years ago. So when four days ago, out of the blue, Emma Raducanu commented, “Fav photo,” that was enough to fuel the blazing fire of dating rumors, which had fans buzzing about their past connections.

Last September, Raducanu was spotted walking arm in arm with Agostinelli as they attended Dior’s show at the Paris Fashion Week. As the brand’s international fashion and beauty ambassador, the 21-year-old tennis player wore an elegant Dior dress, which she flaunted on Instagram after the event. It took no time for Agostinelli to comment, “😍😍😍.” And it didn’t take fans any time either to get on board the Emma-Carlos ship. There’s one thing, though.

So far, the 23-year-old has been spotted with Raducanu on numerous occasions—whether it be his birthday, a fashion show, or even a family get-together. However, Carlos Agostinelli has yet to appear at any of the Brit’s tennis matches. Although Raducanu’s ankle and wrist surgeries from last year that kept her out of tour could be part of the reason, could it be because he’s a bigger fan of a different sport?

Well, now, Carlos Agostinelli looks like a reincarnation of a young Rafa, and apart from the uncanny similarities, he has the soccer skills to back those claims. 

After graduating from Harrow, Carlos—the son of London-based private equity billionaire Robert Agostinelli—attended Stanford University to study International Relations. During his time there, he was part of the soccer team, achieving accolades like being the 2020 Pac-12 champion and a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll from 2020 to 2022.

While Emma Raducanu and Carlos Agostinelli stay away from the limelight, Raducanu slightly hinted about their relationship with her recent social media activity. Add that to their public appearances together, and there’s no stopping the rumors. What do you think? Are they a couple?
