The WTA currently ranks Raducanu at number 10 after her US Open win. However, her 2022 season was marred by injuries and drama within her team. She had to withdraw from the Australian Open this year, citing an ankle injury. But she is back and ready to restart her 2023 season.

She recently shared a story on her Instagram account from the official ATX Open Instagram account. The story consisted of a video of her, announcing that she will participate in the tournament. She also said she is excited to explore the city.

“Hey Austin, it’s Emma. I’m very much looking forward to coming and playing the tournament there. I’ve heard so many great things about the city, and I’m really looking forward to checking it out myself, so hopefully, I’ll see you there,” she said.
Raducanu on second-round exit in Aukland due to injury
After a disappointing 2022, Raducanu started 2023 in great form. She headed to Auckland, where she had a great start to the ASB Classic tournament. She defeated Linda Fruhvirtova in a 3-setter match after losing the first set. In the second round, her performance was unbelievable as she won the first set in just 22 minutes without losing a game. However, an injury in the second set forced her to leave the court .

Raducanu left the arena in tears and seemed desolate. “I’ve put a lot of physical work in the last few months, and I’ve been feeling good and optimistic. So to be stopped by a freak injury, rolling an ankle is pretty disappointing, in the first week as well,” she said. “The courts are incredibly slick, very slippery, so it’s not a surprise that this happened to someone.”
