Emma Navarro initially committed to two years of professional tennis following her college departure, with a planned reassessment. According to the WTA website, this two-year mark was reached in June 2024 and went unremarked upon, as Navarro had far surpassed her initial goals. Her career has since seen notable achievements, including a first WTA Tour semi-final in 2023, back-to-back Grand Slam quarter-finals, and a top 10 world ranking achieved after defeating Gauff at the US Open 2024. Furthermore, she is currently celebrating a significant milestone at a WTA 500 event acknowledged by Jaz, the daughter of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.

For the uninitiated, Navarro’s beginning this season wasn’t impressive at all. R32 exit at the Brisbane International, Quarterfinals exit both at the Adelaide International and the Australian Open. The string of unfortunate events followed with an R32 exit at the Qatar Open and R16 exit at the Dubai Tennis Championships. But perseverance always leads to success. Navarro proved it with her scintillating run at the Merida Open this week.

On Sunday, Navarro beat Armenia’s Elina Avanesyan in the SF round in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, to secure a spot in her maiden WTA 500 final. After her victory, Navarro got a special shoutout from Jaz Agassi who was busy cheering her dad at the MGM Rewards Slam when she took notice of Navarro’s feat.

For the uninitiated, Jaz was present at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas to witness a star-studded exhibition battle. It took between the pair of Naomi Osaka and Mardy Fish and Andre Agassi, who joined forces with World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka. He entered this event following his recent Pickleball Slam win with wife Steffi Graf, where they clinched the $1 million prize money against Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard.

Speaking of Jaz, she also was present in the crowd on Saturday night, with her brother Jaden, while supporting his dad and his doubles partner Sabalenka. Later, the 21-year-old even shared a picture on her IG story that she took with the Belarusian. Soon after that, she took a moment to appreciate Navarro! In an IG story, Jazz shared a post from WTA’s official account while celebrating Navarro’s SF victory in Merida.

But guess what? This is not the first time when Agassi and Graf’s daughter has admired her. Remember how she expressed a sweet gesture to the American WTA pro last month?

When Jaz Agassi sent an adorable message to Emma Navarro

In early February, Andre Agassi had joined the 2003 US Open winner Andy Roddick, Jessica Pegula, and Emma Navarro for a charity event. It was titled Stars Servin’ Up Love’. The exhibition event in Asheville was held to boost the Hurricane Helene relief campaign. With 4,000 spectators present at the venue, it turned out to be a success. The initiative eventually raised $1 million for the philanthropic cause.

Later, Navarro shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the event, having fun with Pegula and Roddick. She was also seen sharing a warm hug with Andre Agassi. In a post on IG, dated February 4, she wrote, “Had a blast @starsservinuploveasheville helping to support our north carolina neighbors #HurricaneHeleneRelief @jpegula @agassi @michaelkosta”

Seeing this, Jaz couldn’t help but leave a special message for the WTA pro. So what did she say? Well, “That hug was from me!! You’re the coolest,” Agassi’s 21-year-old daughter wrote in her IG story.
