Emma Navarro knows exactly where she needs to be. This mindset, somewhere down the line, has helped the 22-year-old American find happiness in victories and losses, whatever the situation might be. However, when asked about the wisdom and motivation behind such confidence on the court, she recently gave a tribute to her billionaire father, who has been organizing the Charleston Open for the past six years.

After defeating her fellow American, Katie Volynets, recently in an interview with Tennis Channel, Navarro openly talked about the kind of knowledge she has received from her father, who is practically a billionaire businessman and philanthropist and never leaves the opportunity to provide education to young children.

As the American tennis player is currently playing in her hometown, she recently gave a sweet tribute to her father and how his philanthropist knowledge has helped her to become not only a better tennis player but also a better one. She stated, “I got to give lot of credit to my dad, he’s he’s uh probably the smartest guy I know and he’s dropped a lot of knowledge and wisdom on my siblings and I, over the years.”

She described her father’s unusual approach to teaching a semester-long lecture on attitude at a Charleston college, providing a peek into her family dynamics. Going a little further, she emphasized his emphasis on perspective in the lecture and noted that students responded well to it, rating it as one of the most interesting and worthwhile classes she has seen.

Along with that, he added, “He’s taught me a bunch about, you know the perspective, I want to take into things especially on court stuff and then my coach as well, just teaches me a lot about mindset and yeah like I said the perspective.”

However, this is not the first time she has credited her father for the way she presented herself on the court. Just a few months ago, there was a time when the young, rising American tennis sensation also revealed her father’s intentions toward tennis.

Navarro’s father’s fond interest in tennis

Ben Navarro’s love of tennis went beyond his playing career since he made sure his kids had an unwavering passion for the game. In a Charleston Mag interview, the 22-year-old revealed her father’s passion for tennis and his wish to make it a family affair. She disclosed that her personal tennis initiation occurred after her two elder brothers’ introduction to the game.

With nostalgia, she emphasized the close link that families develop over tennis, “As soon as I was old enough and strong enough to hold a racket, I was out there on the court with them.” Navarro acknowledged her father as the person who had helped her the most throughout her tennis career and stressed how he made sure she had the right instruction and guidance when needed and had always been there for her through every victory and setback.
