Former Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova was among the best tennis players of her time. After her retirement in 2020, the former world number 1 has been quite active on the business front. Talking about her personal life, the 35-year-old lives with her husband, Alexander Gilkes.

The couple recently announced the birth of their son Theodore. Post pregnancy, the Russian has been busy with the responsibility of a mother. However, being a new parent can be challenging at times. Hence, the former tennis star decided to engage in the learning and knowledge sharing program of byheart.com.

Sharapova urges other parents to join

After registering for the program, Sharapova took to her Instagram account and wrote a note for other parents to share their experiences, as it might be helpful for the new parents.

“I’m excited to participate in @byheart’s call for to all parents to share their learnings and nuggets of wisdom so that the next generation of parents can know more. #Dearnewparents, behind the sweet and cozy, the rainbows and butterflies, the early days of feeding are filled with unpredictability. Go easy on yourself and know that everything will be okay,” she wrote.

Further, the Russian asked people to tell one thing they wish they knew as new parents.

“What’s the one thing you wish you knew as a new parent? Share your #dearnewparents so the next generation of parents can know more!” She concluded.

Along with the post, the 35-year-old also posted a brief clip of herself gently holding the little hands of Theodore.

Post pregnancy recovery phase is very crucial for new mothers. Providing an update on her health, the 35-year-old revealed that she felt very weak the day after giving birth.

Further, the Russian said she was unable to move her body for two weeks. However, the former world number one posted an Instagram video with an update that she has started moving her body again. In the video, we can see the former tennis star engaging in light exercises.
