Two years ago, Emma Raducanu had the whole world at her feet. She accomplished the remarkable feat of winning a Grand Slam at the age of 18 years. However, since the US Open victory she has failed to find any sort of consistency in her game. But her, off-the-court activities always kept her in the headlines. The 21-year-old has been one of the most criticized and scrutinized players over the last couple of years. But when it comes to compatriots, they always have her back.

Recently she was backed by a few Brits on making a comeback at the Grand Slams in the next few years. Now, the 14-year-old British rising star, Hannah Klugman shares her admiration for the former British number one. Let’s find out what she has to say about her ‘inspiration’ – Emma Raducanu.

The 21YO is now an inspiration to the next generation. Here’s what Hannah Klugman said on Raducanu’s US Open journey. ‘I’m definitely inspired by Emma Raducanu winning the US Open. I think it was a massive step in English tennis. Like honestly, it was incredible watching her win as no one’s done it for ages. So I feel like it’s you know really inspired me. You know, you can do it if you put in the work. She was in qualies and ended up winning the tournament. So, anything’s possible for you going,‘ Klugman.

Raducanu was 150th in the world and had to play three qualifiers to get into the main draw of the US Open in 2021. She then went on to become the fifth player in the Open Era to reach the semis of a major event as a qualifier. Raducanu leapfrogged to the Top 25 after qualifying for the finals.

And, then went on to become the first qualifier to win a major singles title in the Open Era without dropping a set in the tournament. This was her second Grand Slam event, the 18-year-old Brit made the record for the fewest majors played before winning a title. Raducanu became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since 1977.

The 14YO then went on to add that she sometimes sees Raducanu at the National Tennis Center. She says the former no.10 is so nice and she would love to play with each other shortly. Klugman is one of the promising players, and she has been proving it with her recent performances. Let’s find out more about this budding star.

The Rise of Hannah Klugman

Another Emma Raducanu in the making? Well, if she could maintain the consistency she had in 2023 over the next years then who knows? The 14-year-old British tennis player had reached the QFs of the girls’ singles at the US Open in September this year.

Then in October she got a wildcard and became the youngest player to compete against the seniors in Shrewsbury, beating Coco Gauff‘s record. Again in December, she came into the headlines after winning the U18 Orange Bowl event in Florida. A feat that no other Brit has achieved, not even Emma Raducanu.

She has already started following the footsteps of some of the prominent faces in women’s tennis. Can she step up further and fulfill her wish of winning a Grand Slam title in the next few years?
