Notably, Gauff also won yesterday’s singles semi-final match against Martina Trevisan in straight sets. Tomorrow, the American will play against world no.1 and the favorite to win this tournament, Iga Swiatek. In terms of the age difference, Gauff is just 2 years younger than the Pol. However, the Pol has already achieved many things in her career. In 2020, she won her first Grand Slam title at the French Open. Now, at 18, Gauff will try her luck to win her first Grand Slam title. Not only that, she has a very good chance of winning the doubles tournament as well.
Venus and Serena Williams achieved this feat before, but not at the French Open
A very few players in the history of women’s tennis have achieved this incredible feat. Former Swiss tennis player Martina Hingis won both singles and doubles titles at the Australian Open for three years in a row, from 1997 to 1999.
