The Czech-American tennis legend Martina Navratilova was declared cancer free a few days ago. While she is out of danger right now, she still has to go on for a few preventive radiation sessions. Before her cancer had resurfaced, Navratilova and Lemigova had announced they would adopt a child. The plans were put on hold when Navratilova was ill. Their plans for adoption were still floating. The tennis legend recently gave her opinion and the possible decision about adoption plans in an exclusive with Piers Morgan.
Martina Navratilova was diagnosed with cancer for a second time this year. Her first diagnosis came in 2010, and thankfully, Navratilova prevailed both times.

A recent exclusive interview with Piers Morgan saw the WTA legend discussing many aspects of her personal life. She also discussed the adoption plans she had with her former model and wife Julia Lemigova. She explained that after her diagnosis and treatment, it was most unlikely.
The 49-time grand slam winner said that Lemigova was devastated when her daughters left for Europe, which is when the two thought of adoption. The 18-time grand slam winner herself thought that it was a good idea at first. But with cancer, her overall health came into sharp focus. Navratilova also felt that there was not enough space in her life to rear a child.
“Yeah, so I think it was a nice thought for a while. But I think this kind of brought it to sharp focus. You know, I’m not the youngest anymore and I don’t wanna be the grandma on the playground. But forget that part, it’s just uh, there’s just not enough space, I think, for this to happen. So we will think about adopting but, that’s definitely put on hold I don’t think its gonna happen.”

Daily energy is an obstacle
Navratilova, in the same segment, went on to discuss that the thought process was too complicated. She further said that the energy required will be immense, which she can’t promise. However, she believes that her wife will be understanding of her mindset and worries.

“It’s too complicated and the energy, you know, you only have so much,” the former number 1 told Morgan. She added that, “Yeah of course, uh, it was a nice idea. Nice thought, nice possibility, but we gotta be more realistic. Julia will support whatever, you know, there’s only so much you can do with your energy and I don’t think it’s there for me.”
Martina Navratilova, along with Julia Lemigova have gone through various trials in their lives. The two have experienced a lot and will end up on a decision that will be the best for both of them.
