Former tennis player John McEnroe talked about the incident in a podcast. He was talking about the mishaps at the Oscars when he mentioned the incident. He said, “Doesn’t rank up there with the Will Smith thing”. McEnroe added, “He set a whole new standard, Will Smith.”
The incident where Will Smith slapped the host Chris Rock over a joke about his wife has divided the opinions amongst the people. But people mainly condemned the violent act. Consequently, Academy Awards banned the actor, who later issued an apology.
