American tennis legend, Serena Williams, knows how to conquer both her opponent on the tennis court and other individuals who approach her with inappropriate questions. Back in 2017, at the Australian Open, Serena refused to back down after a reporter questioned her on-court performance.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion has always been outspoken about her concerns, be it in the sport and outside of it. Over the years, she has been the subject of numerous debates, but has always maintained her composure.

Serena Williams once rebuked a journalist
In a post-match interview, during the second round of the Australian Open in 2017, the former world number one sought out a reporter for an apology. The reporter, who termed her game “scrappy” and full of “unforced error”, was condemned for it by the 23-time Grand Slam champion.
After the reporter addressed the legendary American star with his take on her performance, she gave him a fitting answer. She said, “I think that’s a very negative thing to say. Are you serious? Well, you should have been out there.”

Williams, after addressing the unnamed reporter, straightaway asked him to apologize for his opinion. She added, “That wasn’t very kind. You should apologize. Do you want to apologize?” Subsequently, the journalist realized his mistake and immediately apologized.
Serena defeated Venus to win her 23rd major title
The tennis legend’s most recent Grand Slam triumph was in 2017, while she was expecting her daughter. Serena won the Australian Open that year. In the final, she battled against her elder sister, Venus. Despite Venus’ valiant efforts, her younger sister won in straight sets (6-4 6-4).
