The year was 2021, and the event was the US Open. The whole world saw the rise of a young tennis prodigy from Britain, who stunned everyone and clinched the title coming from qualifiers. Since then, Emma Raducanu has been under the spotlight. But, ever since her US Open glory, she has failed to match that spark and is often seen struggling with form due to injuries. The year 2024 also hasn’t been the best for her. However, she is ready to make a bold statement next year!
Emma Raducanu has faced a tough few months due to injuries, but the 21-year-old is staying positive and has her sights set on a powerful return to the tennis court next year. After climbing from outside the top 200 to 57th in the rankings, Raducanu’s recent injuries have forced her to withdraw from several major tournaments, including the China Open, Wuhan Open, Ningbo Open, and even the Guangzhou Open. Last month, she retired midway through her quarter-final against Daria Kasatkina in the Korea Open after spraining ligaments in her foot.
Despite these setbacks, Raducanu remains determined to make a strong comeback. She has learned valuable lessons from the challenges she has faced. Talking to WomensHealth, she said, “Having been through such big changes, wellness to me now is the inner stillness I feel.” This approach has helped her stay calm and focused. For Raducanu, wellness means doing things that enrich her mind and body, such as hot yoga, reading, and studying.
