Evert reiterated her concern for the player and wished for her to do well. She said, “You?re simply too good not to be winning two Grand Slam titles a year. These are crucial years that you?ll never get back. Why not dedicate yourself entirely for the next five years and see what you can achieve?”
Evert’s concern was about Serena Williams losing her prime years to other distractions. However, the tennis player let nothing deviate her from her tennis endeavors. She treated everything else as hobbies and focused on her tennis. In 2006, she won seven grand slam titles. Moreover, Evert did not know that Williams would go on to achieve a whopping 23 grand slam titles and would continue to strive for more.
