World’s former number-one WTA star Serena Williams has left her fans utterly disappointed. Known to channel her inner blonde since 2001 with her famous micro-braids in roots and straight locks in the rest, Williams has shown that she is fearless in both tennis and fashion. While the fraternity has proudly termed her a style icon, the 42-year-old legend’s look at the Tribeca Festival forced her fans to ask her for an interesting flavor.

A reliable Serena Williams fan took their official X platform to showcase their disappointment over the former Olympic gold-medalist WTA star’s latest hairstyle. Williams attended the Tribeca Festival for her docuseries In the Arena: Serena Williams‘ Premiere. However, her blush pink corset dress styled by Lyndrea Price and her blonde medium soft curls by hairstylist Kesha McLeod failed horribly to impress the former tennis pro’s fans. “Who would you hire to replace Serena William’s current stylist?”- wrote the fan on their X platform. After this comment, the social media platform was stormed with many other Williams fan dropping their anguish over this look.

Known for her eccentric hairstyles and fashion, Williams has worked with many A-listers in Hollywood. For example, Vogue’s iconic LaTisha Chong, a renowned black hairstylist had Serena Williams’ name in her clientele. Chong styled Williams for a September Vogue cover shoot, which became famous for Serena’s exclusive announcement about her retirement. However, Williams’ current hairstylist is Kesha McLeod, who has earned huge fame in Hollywood for her eccentric styles.

McLeod worked with Williams during her wedding in 2017 and her presence at Met Gala events. McLeod has not only been the younger Williams’ hairstylist but she is also like a sister to the former tennis legend. “ I love that I can also go to her for friendship, not only just work. It is really amazing to have someone like that as your mentor, as well as a client”- McLeod commented about her bond with Serena.

Despite their long partnership, Serena Williams’ look for the Tribeca Festival has brought a lot of disappointment among her fans. While fans drooled over her wedding dress cover shoot for Brides, they disliked her blonde soft-curls to the core so much that asked her to change the stylist.

Disappointed fans ask Serena Williams to change her current hairstylist and appoint Venus Williams’s pupil to avoid fashion disaster

Serena Williams’ blush pink dress or her blonde soft curls, nothing could impress her fans at the Tribeca festival. One disappointed fan wrote- “Serena has always had bad dresser”. While her fans were quite direct in criticizing her style Williams chose to remain silent on the matter. This former world’s number one WTA star told People Magazine in 2003, “I’ve been on worst dressed lists and I don’t care.” To her justification, Williams said that she believes at times dressing worse is also important. She loves the style trends she created and often looks back at them with great appreciation.

Fans were so hopeless seeing her latest look that some people actually suggested that her elder sister Venus Williams’ stylist Law Roach or American Fashion stylist Christian Soriano might do justice to her beautiful hair. “And this is one of her better looks, sadly. Maybe Law Roach or Christian Soriano (sp?)”- said the fan. This is not the first time when fans accused Serena Williams of a fashion disaster. Her one-shoulder gilded Balenciaga gown at the Met Gala 2024 couldn’t win her fans’ hearts. Instead, disappointed pupils commented angrily- “what concept of garden of time did the stylist not understand it looks like they just wrapped a piece of tin foil on her oml…” During this year’s Met Gala, Venus received a lot of compliments for her look. Fans went so crazy about her look that some said despite the legend winning on the court, Venus is a step ahead of her baby sister in fashion.

People voted for Venus Williams’ stylist and celebrity stylist Law Roach. They wished the celebrity stylist to give a glamorous makeover to Serena Williams. “I’d be interested in seeing Law Roach style her & Venus Williams’ stylist does very well”- commented another fan. Now, Roach also helped Zendaya as she gave tribute to the famous Williams sisters by recreating the Williams sisters’ iconic 1998 Vogue cover shoot. Roach’s work received well-deserved compliments from the fraternity and the legendary sisters. After that, it is understandable why people are recommending Law Roach’s name so many times.

Interestingly, another fan directly commented that they don’t find the American WTA star appealing with long hair. Instead, they believed “Shorter hair, less big hair would look good on her imo.” Fans expressed their disappointment saying that McLeod has failed to understand Serena Williams’ body type to guide her with an appropriate hairstyle.

However, 23 times Grand Slam Winner, in an interview with People said- “I think fashion is a way to express yourself and express your personality and express like who you are and what you are and sometimes it’s the only way the world can see you.” From this expression, fans can understand that Williams does not always do exactly as she is told by her stylist but she chooses to express her personality by adding elements to her fashion styles.
