Serena Williams was one of the most feared players during her time. Any WTA player’s mind would run a hundred miles an hour wondering how they could beat her. Through all the dominance, Williams was completely confident in her abilities. Rarely would she let something affect her mental state. However, The Queen of the Court was quite superstitious when it came to what she wore during a match.
Throughout the span of her career, Williams has made headlines for outfits she has donned on and off the court. One of her iconic outfits was inspired by the tennis legend, Andre Agassi.

Serena Williams shares her superstition
In an episode of Ellen DeGeneres, Serena Williams came as a guest and discussed with DeGeneres her career. She came on the show after just having won the 2005 Australian Open. DeGeneres asked her about it including if she had any superstitions. Williams replied affirmatively to the question and said that she likes to wear a very prominent set of earrings.

After her statement, DeGeneres pulls up a picture of the kind of earrings she wore. They were bigger than the average person would think and could become a hindrance to someone, but not to Williams. “I mean, those are just some like blue and green earrings, and I thought, you know, there were actually only earrings I had in Australia, then I was like, I have to wear them.”
DeGeneres asked her if the accessory slapped her in the face, but Williams said that they never became an issue even once. She added that she was quite superstitious and continued wearing the rings.

“They didn’t slap me at all. It looks like it did, but I swear I never felt it in any other matches, and I just once; I’m very superstitious. I didn’t know I was so superstitious, and it’s like once I started wearing them, I just, I couldn’t stop gonna keep wearing, I had to keep wearing.”
Superstition or not, Williams can dominate almost every opponent she faces.
