The 2023 US Open was one of the most memorable tournaments for Coco Gauff. The 19-year-old American, who was in staggering form, entered Flushing Meadows as one of the strongest contenders to win the title. As the tournament progressed, she made things clear why she was the most favored. Last night, Coco Gauff landed her hands on her first-ever grand slam as she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in a 3-set thriller. While the whole world was talking about Coco Gauff’s heroics, ESPN did not seem to care at all.
Reacting to this, a famous American journalist raised some serious allegations against one of the biggest broadcasting companies in the world for their ignorance over the issue.

In a sudden turn of events, Coco Gauff’s sensational triumph at the US Open has seemingly vanished from the headlines of ESPN overnight. The absence of any mention or acknowledgement of her historic victory on the sports giant’s homepage has raised eyebrows among fans and prominent journalists alike.
Just a few hours ago, Coco Gauff was all over the news for her incredible victory at the US Open. She battled it out against Aryna Sabalenka in a nail-biting three-set match, capturing hearts and making history. It was a massive moment in her tennis career. Sally Jenkins, a major journalist, highlighted the issue while raising questions over ESPN for their negligence on Coco Gauff’s major milestone.
“Did Coco Gauff become a mirage overnight? Did she go poof? I’m reading ESPN.com this morning and can find not one headline or mention of her on their home page. And the COVER the event,” wrote Jenkins while slamming ESPN for their negligence over the matter.

This, however, came after a tweet that was earlier published by Sally herself where she said that she is just Coco Gauff and not Ultimate Fighting or Bruce Arenas or Coach Prime, which was the main reason why they wiped her tremendous US Open winning story just 12 hours after her successful triumph.

However, she was not the only one to have raised concerns over the matter. As the tweet went viral, a lot of fans took to Twitter to slam ESPN while pointing out that Coco Gauff should have been given the credit that she deserves.

As the tweet went viral, fans could not hold their frustrations as they went to slam ESPN. One fan took to Twitter to say that the 50 years of equal pay in tennis does not hold any significance after the move by the Gambling industrial complex. “50 Years of Equal Pay Undone by the Gambling Industrial Complex.”

Another fan did not seem to find relevance to the claims made by the journalist and said that she was still on the home page. All she needed to do was some scrolling. “She’s still on the home page, but you have to scroll down aways.”

Another fan took the opportunity and said that ESPN has limited the tennis coverage in the country after the sport did not get any real watching in the country. “ESPN dropped most of its tennis coverage, much to the detriment of the sport in the US,” wrote the fan.

This fan did not hold back his emotion as he went all-in at the broadcasters for not covering the Coco Gauff incident. “Disappointing misogynist j*rks,” wrote the fan who clearly seemed frustrated by the actions.

Thus, these reactions by the fans suggest their anger and disappointment over the issue highlighted by Sally.
