Aryna Sabalenka‘s luck appears to be taking a hit currently. After a massive start in the ongoing season, the WTA star had to go through a tough time. Her recent run for the title in Berlin was interrupted because of a disturbing injury. While the Belarusian is reported to be “the second or the third tennis player who injured that muscle”, a former WTA pro came forward to drop another scary prediction.
Former WTA pro Chanda Rubin recently took a moment to express concerns about Aryna Sabalenka’s shoulder injury. In the latest episode of Tennis Channel Live Podcast, the former American pro said, “That’s very concerning and especially, you know, right before Wimbledon…That is a big weapon for Sabalenka and not just the weapon but for her game to flow naturally from it. When you are struggling with an injury that way on the grass courts, it’s just difficult to play your game in the same way.”
Along with analyzing the danger that lies ahead, she also explained how struggles are piling up for the Belarusian, one after the other. “It’s layers upon layers for her heard her talking about some of the pains she’s felt you’re not in pain as a player,” Rubin added, referring to the other hardships that Sabalenka went through.

This condition also forced her to withdraw from her quarterfinal match against Anna Kalinskaya in Berlin last week. Despite this setback, the Belarusian is looking forward to her showdown against Emina Bektas in the first round of Wimbledon. However, her participation is covered with dark clouds as she admitted she is “not 100% fit.”

“We’re doing everything we can with my team to make sure I’ll be able to play my first match here,” Sabalenka said in a recent interview, aiming to reassure her fans. Expressing sadness over her recent struggles, the 26-year-old added, “I would say that the past month, being like really challenging for me. I’ve been fighting through a lot of different pains.”
Aryna Sabalenka is scheduled to play in just a few hours. As the clock is ticking, each fan has eyes on the screens to witness if the Belarusian feels healthy enough to dominate her rivals. Aryna Sabalenka realized that the fans might be worried about her recovery status. But she doesn’t like being worried herself and therefore collaborated with the “Minister of Happiness” to spread good vibes around. In her recent practice sessions on the courts of Wimbledon, the Belarusian was seen alongside Ons Jabeur, showcasing her killer moves.
“When you and your friend match the same energy,” the post caption said, which originated from Wimbledon’s official Instagram handle. In the video, she can be seen enjoying a dance with Jabeur when the latter holds her from behind to hinder the performance and even with her not-so-good moves.
