Does Alexis Ohanian's support for friends make him the ultimate 'Business Dad' in today's world?

Alexis Ohanian isn’t just making headlines for his business acumen or devotion to family; he’s also known for his unwavering support and solidarity with friends and acquaintances. The “Business Dad” has shown that compassion once again, this time extending his concern amid the intensifying situation caused by Hurricane Milton in Tampa Bay. As the storm raged on, Ohanian took a moment to express his heartfelt support for a media friend caught amid the chaos.

Milton is expected to make landfall in Florida as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday, October 8. This has resulted in widespread fear, with several people evacuating the region to ensure their safety. The stress of the situation was evident in the words of Mike Solana, the founder of Founders Fund and the editor-in-chief of Pirate Wires. Taking to X, Solana wrote, “mandatory evacuations now beginning throughout tampa bay. I think many of you are not understanding how much damage a category 3 or 4 will do if it smashes into a major, coastal metropolitan area.” As soon as the post gained traction, Ohanian was one of the first to send a heartfelt message.

Responding to the post, Ohanian wrote, “Please Be Safe,” expressing his support for his friend during this distressing time. For the unversed, hurricanes reaching Category 3 and higher are considered major hurricanes because of their potential for significant loss of life and damage. This is why several counties within the region have issued mandatory evacuation warnings to citizens. However, this is not the first time Ohanian has shared a heartfelt message for a colleague.

A similar situation was witnessed on October 5, when Ohanian expressed his support for a post by fellow investor Jack Altman. The founder and chairman of Lattice, and an investor at Alt Capital, Altman took to X to share his love for his late father, Jerry Altman, on his birthday. “Happy birthday to my dad, who didn’t quite get the chance to meet his grandkids but would have been an amazing grandpa 🤗,” he wrote. The Reddit co-founder was one of those people who was able to relate with his fellow businessman.

Responding to the post, the ‘Business Dad’ shared a heartfelt response and wrote, “I feel this. 🙏 HBD Mr Altman.” Like Altman’s father, Ohanian’s mother did not have the pleasure of seeing her grandchildren, who were born after her demise. Meanwhile, Ohanian is poised to bring changes in the sports arena as well, with his continued support for women athletes.

Alexis Ohanian makes massive promise to support women athletes

Alexis Ohanian’s association with sports is not just due to his wife Serena Williams, but also because he is a passionate advocate for women’s sports, especially track and field. This was further highlighted when Ohanian expressed his desire to bring positive change in the lives of female athletes through Athlos NYC, which he announced in April this year. Now, with a successful inaugural edition in place, the business mogul has made a massive promise to continue supporting female athletes.

On a recent episode of the podcast “Ready Set Go,” Ohanian opened up about the event and the future of Athlos NYC. “I feel like we’re on to something… but obviously still a lot more to do, and I can’t help but look at some of these stars like Tara and think, God, we got to find ways, uh, for… I don’t want to,” he shared. “But obviously still a lot more to do… We’re in phase one… I’m already still thinking like how phase two goes.”
