Earlier today, the defending champion bowed out of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. In what was a repeat of last year’s final, Jabeur got the better of Rybakina this time around, defeating the 24-year-old in three sets 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-1. The match lasted close to two hours, seeing Jabeur come out on top in an amazing comeback. After the match, Rybakina had an emotional moment after her wish came true.

The Kazakhstan tennis star headed to the post-match press conference after her quarterfinal defeat at Wimbledon. Talking to the media at the press conference, Rybakina said, ?My box was full from the beginning of the tournament.. I?m really happy. I?m also happy my parents got a chance to watch me live.”
Further, revealing what she missed last year despite lifting the Wimbledon trophy, she added, “Last year, I wish they were there. But I think it was a nice experience for them to stay with the team.?

Having had a modest Wimbledon campaign, the World Number Three will look to come back stronger in the upcoming tournaments. She has had a solid hard-court season, winning the Indian Wells title and making it to the finals at the Australian Open and the Miami Open.
