Maria Sharapova shares her conservative shopping approach despite a huge net worth
Being a tennis star worth $180 million net worth, no one expects Maria Sharapova to have second thoughts or even check the price tag of an item when she is out shopping. But believe it or not, her approach to shopping is quite different. Recently she was in a podcast episode of ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard’, where she revealed her shopping habits.
During the podcast conversation, she shared how her shopping habits are quite different. She added, “I don’t spend a lot on things. I don’t have a lot of things in my house because aesthetically, I just appreciate less. And so, when I do buy, I don’t buy cheaply. I buy well in a way that I live with these things like shoes. I will rinse and repeat them and then I will buy a sofa that I’m going to re-upholster in 5 years and I’m going to keep that sofa because I made a conscious decision. So, decisions that I make around money are around useful things”
Her approach to shopping truly focuses on sustainability. She shares how she continues to buy expensive stuff once in a while but keeps in mind that she will use it for a long time instead of buying things every now and then. And that coming from a celebrity of her scale is truly astounding. And we can all learn from that!

One of the reasons was that Sharapova had to quickly go to another tournament due to which she could not savor the moment she won the medal. And also, because she felt that she wanted to win the gold one and could not, so putting up the silver medal did not make sense to her. She added that she moved on really quickly from it.
