“But WTA are doing their best, so maybe in the meantime, in the next 2 years, they will manage I think. Every female player will be really happy with that,” she said in the podcast, hoping for a change to come soon.

While highlighting this alarming difference that she wants to be changed, she also acknowledged the Grand Slam’s initiative on the matter. “I am really happy that the Grand Slam is equal,” Timofeeva said during the interview. When asked about the one change she wishes to see in the future in tennis, she said, “I would really love if women’s WTA prize money to the ATP prize money on most of the tournaments. In most of the tournaments where WTA compared to ATP, which has much less price money.”
