However, Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian never leaves a chance to appreciate her choices.

Remember back in 2004, during the US Open, Williams made headlines with her denim shorts outfit? From donning extravagant boots and miniskirts to accentuating her comeback with a catsuit. With her outfits, the Tennis legend has made a statement on and off the court.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, has long dominated the tennis courts in two ways: first, with her thrilling matches, and second, with her impeccable choice of outfits on the court. Williams was constantly on the edge when it came to her wardrobe, and her 2004 US Open attire ranks among her most controversial choices.

A Tennis fan posted a picture of those denim shorts from 2004 on Twitter. The Reddit co-founder is still giving some major couples goals even after five years of getting married. And commented on those pictures and wrote, “Damn.” The outfit for the 2004 US Open consists of a black shirt, a denim little skirt, and a pair of black boots. A denim jacket was also part of the ensemble, but Williams wore it for a brief time.

The American tennis legend has, however, consistently stated that she has a special place in her heart for denim gear. And after reading Alexis Ohanian’s most recent response, it seems as though he was equally astounded and continues to be charmed by the denim outfit even after 15 years of wearing it.

Williams’ inspiration behind her denim outfit 

The 23-time Grand Slam champion discussed the inspiration behind those outstanding denim shorts in an old interview with Vogue. She and Nike partnered together for the first time before the US Open. The former world number one considers this to be one of her favorite three tennis outfits.

The Tennis legend discussed her admiration for Andre Agassi’s short jeans in the video. Likewise, he wished to alter his appearance in the same manner. In response, the Nike designers came up with the brilliant idea for the Denim skirt.
