The British tennis player retired midway while playing the ASB tournament in Auckland recently. She suffered a fatal ankle injury. Apparently indicated by the slightly slippery courts coming out as a result of bad weather.

The 20-year-old tennis player, in an interview with tennis Australia, talked about how she has not made any decisions about participating in the Australian Open this year. This conversation came after the tennis star faced an injury and it’s amazing to see the 20-year-old belief and confidence in herself regarding the sport.
She said, “I’m just taking a day at a time, honestly, and just trying to, every single day try as best as possible to see and make progress. And we’ll see hopefully by Monday, or whenever the tournament starts, I’ll be OK and ready. But we’re just taking it a day at a time and not trying to expect too much at this point.”
Additionally, the one-time Grand Slam champion talked about how getting an injury just a week before the first major tournament is quite unfortunate. But she still has her hopes high to put her injury behind her. And get ready to complete it at the Australian Open starting on January 16, 2023. However, this injury also broke down the British tennis player’s heart and her chances of winning the 2023 Australian Open.
