The four times Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka, has defeated many professionals in her career up till now. But there’s only one victory that she will cherish forever. A victory that in a way marked the beginning of the tennis star. In fact, she values that win more than her glorious Grand Slam moments. The matches in which she defeated aces such as the legendary Serena Williams.

Osaka’s dearest and sweetest revenge moment that came against her elder sister, is still on top of her list. The time when she made her claims come true and finally secured a win against Mari Osaka by far is the best experience she has had.
Naomi Osaka about her most precious win
In a recent interview, Osaka detailed the aspects of her win while talking about the moments that made her feel that she wanted to pursue tennis as a profession. She explained how, after incurring numerous 6-0 defeats, her game-changing victory arrived. “It was on a green clay court, which if you know me, I play on hard court, so that was even more of a bonus. So boom.”
Thereafter, she added. “I beat him 6-4, and she gave the excuse that she was so tired from another day. ‘You didn’t even that much the other day’. And so that’s my number one victory.”

“Like way before all the Grand Slams and stuff like that. I will count it as my best victory ever. And I am sorry, but she cried.” The former World no.1 chucked and confessed. Both Mari and Naomi grew up carrying the dream of their father, who, inspired by Richard Williams, wanted to make his daughters the next Venus and Serena Williams.

Osaka developed love and passion for the sport with time. However, Mari was more into the fashion world and retired early from tennis to pursue the same.

However, the Pole was riding high on form and Osaka fell prey to her 37-match win streak’s creation. The 25-year-old lost her first trophy of the season in the sets of 4-6 0-6.
