Serena Williams once let people believe she is World No 1
To be the world’s best tennis player Serena Williams gave a lot of sacrifices. She knew how she was the best despite sometimes dropping in her rankings. But to be such a player, that people always assumed she was World No 1, Williams struggled a lot. So, when the time came and people thought that she was World No 1 when in reality she was No 3, she did not clarify and went with the flow. In an interview, she said, “Well, obviously I do want to be the best, and I do want to be No. 1.”
With confidence dripping, she said, “And quite frankly, everyone thinks I am anyway.” She said, “So you know I never correct them. I just let them believe what really should be.”
