After an impeccable run at the US Open this year, British teenage sensation Emma Raducanu has been enjoying the limelight. The 18-year-old won over thousands of supporters during her run and they’ve been waiting for her next appearance.

There were initial speculations regarding Raducanu directly playing the WTA Kremlin cup and continue playing the remaining WTA events before the finals. However, there is a WTA 1000 tournament which is scheduled to take place in Indian Wells from the fourth of October.

Initially, it looked evident that Indian Wells organizers will give Raducanu a wild card to play the event. But, the Brit confirmed her participation in the WTA 500 tournaments in Russia and Romania before giving an update on the BNP Paribas Open.

Emma Raducanu will be a wild-card entrant at Indian Wells 2021

Moments ago, the tournament made it official and welcomed Emma Raducanu to their event by granting a wild card. This will be the Brit’s first participation in the main draw of a WTA 1000 tournament in her budding career.

It’s a special moment for the youngster to be invited to a premier tournament through a wild card. Considering the widespread recognition Raducanu got amongst tennis fans across the world, the expectations will be high on the teenager to perform limits once again.

Since her first Grand Slam title, the teenager has been part of multiple promotional campaigns across Britain and even got the chance to play tennis alongside the Duchess of Cambridge for an event organized by the LTA.

Having entered the US Open as a qualifier, Raducanu qualified for the main draw and went on to claim huge wins against the likes of Belinda Bencic, Maria Sakkari etc., before thrashing Leylah Fernandez in straight sets in the final.

If she plays with freedom like the way she did in New York, fans are in for a treat at the upcoming Indian Wells Masters.
