Martina Navratilova has confirmed the ‘double whammy’ of throat and breast cancer. Though, this is not the first time that the legendary tennis star would be involved in the battle with the dreaded diagnosis. Earlier too, Navratilova was diagnosed with breast cancer but was cleared six months later. And the 59-time Grand Slam champion is hoping for a positive outcome.

The doctors have relayed a favorable prognosis. In the meantime, Navratilova is spending her precious time with her wife Julia Lemigova, teaching her tennis.

In the clip shared by the 59-time Grand Slam champion’s wife, the two seemed to be enjoying their moments to the fullest. The tennis legend gives a few tennis lessons to her partner.

Martina Navratilova gives ‘Volley’ classes to her wife Julia Lemigova

It has been years since the tennis legend tied the knot with her then-girlfriend, Lemigova. The couple has been there for thick and thin. Recently,  Lemigova shared a glimpse of her tennis practice sessions with her wife and coach, Navratilova. In the clip, the Czech-American tennis legend is seen explaining how to hit a volley to her wife.

Navratilova guides Lemigova, not to swing the racket too much while hitting a volley. Furthermore, she goes on to show how to move the racket, and said “On the Volley, Don’t take the swing….” After taking in the instructions, Lemigova takes the racket, to try out the volley, “can I hold… just do this…” And she hits them perfectly, as Navratilova gives her the balls. After Lemigova hits the volleys perfectly, the legends exclaim, “Yes! She got it”.

Sharing the session on Instagram, Navratilova’s wife captioned, “Martina says, ‘My wife is a quick study, an eager student. And as good in real volleys as she is in verbal volleys😉.’”

Well, that is undoubtedly true, as the 59-time Grand Slam champion is never shy in speaking her mind out.

Navratilova soon begin her treatment to get rid of the cancers, and the legendary player would be fighting the battle with everything she had got, like before.
