Paula Badosa aims to climb up the ladders further in 2025

Despite her heroics in Melbourne, Paula Badosa revealed that her goals for the 2025 season haven’t changed. All she now wants is to finish inside the Top 7 and book her spot at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. Speaking on her goal and sharing her thoughts on her incredible comeback, Badosa said, “I started winning matches after six months, started a little bit late. So hopefully this year I can react a little bit sooner and I’m able to go to Riyadh… After all my struggles, especially the past years, being back in Top 10, being back at this level makes me realize that I’m much stronger than I thought.

However, her path to achieving her goals in the 2025 season is going to be full of hoops to jumps through. Who is her biggest hurdle in the women’s Tour, though? Well, Paula Badosa’s dream run at the 2025 AO came to an end at the hands of her ‘soulmate’ Aryna Sabalenka. Both these players have met each other 8 times in their careers so far, but the Belarusian has a clear edge of 6-2 in the H2H record.

Recently, both Paula Badosa and Aryna Sabalenka gave an interview. While talking to Pavel Kisly, Badosa said, “When you watch a movie you want to know the end how it’s going to finish or you don’t want to know it. Of course you don’t want to know it, so in women’s tennis you never know… In men’s tennis you always know okay Rafa, Djokovic, Roger. So in women, you never know what’s going to happen. And I hope you start losing (pointing towards Sabalenka) so it’s more entertaining.”
