Recently, she opened up about the challenges she faces as she juggles these responsibilities, showing fans that even legends can feel the weight of life’s demands. Yet, true to her nature, Serena’s message was one of determination, proving once again that she’s unstoppable in every arena she steps into. 

The 43-year-old former tennis star took to her X on Tuesday, October 29, to share a video that detailed her daily routine as a mother of two daughters. She can be seen engaging in various chores, ranging from providing bicycle rides to her younger daughter Adira to training her elder daughter Olympia on the courts, and playing inside the home with them to cooking food for the family, the star player revealed how demanding her role is.

“My life is very different now. Instead of chasing balls, I’m chasing #Adira and helping #Olympia with tennis lessons and cooking.  (And, all this is in-between Venture Capital calls),”  the former player wrote on the microblogging platform. Williams, who tied the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in 2016, was blessed with her first child, Olympia in 2017. The couple subsequently welcomed Adira in 2023 after the tennis great decided to bid adieu to the sport in 2022.

But what is the video about? The video shows a determined Williams trying to train her elder daughter, despite her reluctance as has been shared by the star player herself in the past. 

In an interaction with CBS News’ Person to Person With Norah O’Donnell in February 2023, Serena Williams revealed that Olympia is not interested enough in Tennis. “That’s a little disappointing for me, but she’s actually really good at it.” However, she revealed that she wishes to find ways to change the scenarios. “So, we are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit. Maybe I can push her into tennis by getting other kids to have a group lesson, I think that’s what I’m going to do.” And now, the latest video suggests that Williams has probably been successful in drawing Olympia to the courts. This, however, is not the first time when the 23-time Grand Slam champion has opened up on the challenges of motherhood.

The WYN founder recently shared a video on Instagram that detailed how challenging her life can become as a mother. The video highlights the transition in a woman’s attire – from the stylish outfits of mothers with their children to a more troubled form of dressing that lacks aesthetics. “How you think you are gonna dress as a mom,” was the text in the string of initial pictures which was followed by “Reality” for the lesser aesthetic pictures. Williams’ efforts never go unnoticed. Her husband, Ohanian, has often expressed high regard for the player and has heaped praises on her.

Serena Williams has not just played a great role for her daughters but has also been pivotal in the life of her husband. Alexis Ohanian too, has expressed immense love and admiration for the star player highlighting how his life changed positively after meeting the star player. One such admission from Ohanian about Williams was also witnessed at the opening of the Athlos NYC event. 

Ohanian took Olympia with him to the event, who even accompanied her father to the interview box. When quizzed about Olympia’s personality, Ohanian said, “Olympia is easily the most amazing little human I have met and she’s a great big sister.” But what caught the attention further was the fact that he credited his wife for the role that she played in the lives of their daughters.

“The one credit that I gotta give, Serena is an amazing mom,” he added, “and one of the things we do is just really prioritize, just trying to show up for our kids.” As Williams remains determined to give the best atmosphere to her daughters, it would be interesting to see if more such videos from the life of the player mesmerize the fans.
