During the Hua Hin Championship, Badosa faced Diana Shnaider in the second round. After losing the first set and then leading in the second set, Badosa had to withdraw from the tournament due to a lower back injury. Her form following the withdrawal was uncertain as she was seen on the sheet for the Abu Dhabi Open.

However, as per AS, Badosa has stepped away and decided to focus on her recovery instead of playing in another tournament. The page quotes her, “I am very sorry to have to retire from Abu Dhabi, because I really wanted to play there. I hope I can come back next year and play in front of all the fans”. This comes after lackluster performances in the first few tournaments of 2024.

In the Adelaide International, Badosa was out in the first round. In the Australian Open, Badosa was eliminated from round 3. The news of her withdrawal came after she reassured fans that she will be back soon

After withdrawing from the Hua Hin tournament, Badosa shared a message on her ‘X’ page reassuring her fans. She wrote, “Good news all in all, I haven’t relapsed the injury fortunately. I’m going to work with my team now 24/7 to get the inflammation down as soon as possible so I can compete soon. Thanks for all the messages 🫶We are still struggling…”
