Danielle Collins, a fiery competitor, is not only known for her aggressive playing style but also for her outspoken personality. It’s better for the fans to keep a safe distance when ‘Danimal’ is in a bad mood and guess what? Today was just a bad day in the office for the 30-year-old American tennis star. She was defeated by Erika Andreeva in a three-set thriller in the R16 of the Monterrey Open. However, more than her defeat, Collins’ furious reply to the fans during the match has now started to make the headlines.

The match reached a boiling point when Collins was waiting for Andreeva to serve in the third set. The score was 1-6,6-3,4-3 in favor of Andreeva and the Russian was 40-0 up in that game. As Andreeva prepared to serve, a group of spectators in the crowd began to make noise. Annoyed by the disruption, Collins raised her voice and addressed the group directly.

Raising her arms in the air, she yelled, “What in the world? I don’t get it. It’s not that hard to let us play tennis and be supportive.”

Collins loves to take on whoever comes her way! Although she lost the match by 6-1,3-6,3-6, she didn’t fail to entertain the tennis world. We’ve seen several such instances in the past and quite a few of them happened in this year itself.

Andy Roddick is a huge admirer of this version of Danielle Collins! Once during an interview, he said, “It’s like she (Collins) is going to walk up and throw haymakers like and it’s just it’s fun I mean, so I get it.” Let’s now take a glimpse at those fiery moments from this year involving this aggressive tennis star.

Those who have been following the racquet sport in the last few months can well relate to the ‘Danimal’ version of Collins. First, in March we saw her blow a sarcastic kiss toward a hostile crowd during the 2024 Miami Open. Then, in April we witnessed a series of outbursts during the Madrid Open. The first incident in Madrid happened during her match against Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian. It happened during the third game of the second set.

She shut down a heckler by yelling, “You come out in here and play, you do what I do, okay? Have a little more respect.” Quite similar to this recent incident, Collins was literally irked by the Madrid crowd during that match. Then again, during her match against Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth-round, she yet again lost her cool on a fan. Collins claimed that she was distracted by a spectator’s loud call during the rally. She looked up in disbelief and then turned towards the crowd to yell, “What was that?“.

A similar thing happened at the Italian Open. When she missed her serve and the crowd started making noise, she was forced to confront the fans by shouting, “What? What?“. Collins wasn’t too happy with the noises made by the Italian crowd.

Collins has become a popular figure for these frequent outbursts, and fans absolutely love seeing her like this. Do you love this version of Danielle Collins?
