Aryna Sabalenka had a great season. The Belarusian star started her season by defending her Australian Open title and went on to better her results from last year at the US Open. In addition to two Grand Slam titles, the World No.1 also claimed the Cincinnati masters and a three-peat at Wuhan Open. Ending her season with the year-end World No.1 trophy, Sabalenka headed to Paris to begin her getaway with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis. Amidst of all, Sabalenka shared a video, with the hopes of garnering a place at the Dancing with the Stars show!
On Friday, Sabalenka shared a small clip on her TikTok, dancing to the beats, with her quirky moves on ‘HYPE ME UP’, a song by TruththeBull. She captioned the post with, “Somebody call Dancing with the Stars @Dancing with the Stars #DWTS”, accompanied by a laughing and star emojis.
For the unversed, the Dancing with the Stars show is an American reality show, where celebrity contestants with their professional dancers compete to be the best. In the past, only two tennis professionals have participated in the show, Monica Seles and Martina Navratilova. Both the players were world No.1 during their heydays. With her mini audition video, can Sabalenka be the next one?

Moreover, Aryna’s 2024 French Open stint got her the name, “dancing queen.” At the 2024 Roland Garros, Sabalenka let loose in a choreographed dance with the ball kids, on Pitbull’s 2014 famous soundtrack, “Fireball.” Moreover, in her first practice match, the Belarusian danced her way through the warmup. Certainly a unique way to get ready for a Grand Slam tournament, but Sabalenka loves to be herself.

Opening up about her dancing at the French Open, she said, “So for me, it’s the better way to kind of like loosen up and to keep it, I don’t know, mentally good, it’s just to have fun, of course… Honestly, this is just the way I am, Good or bad, whatever, but this is who I am.”
True to her words, Aryna Sabalenka enjoys every moment. And right now, she is enjoying her No. 1 position. The World No.1 also shared a rather unique perspective for her position, as she stands at the top.

“I’m more than ready,” says Aryna Sabalenka as she embraces the crown
The race between Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka for the top crown in the WTA is not a recent one. Last year too, the two fought towards the end to lift the World No.1 trophy. Sabalenka snatched the top rank from Swiatek after the US Open for 8 weeks. However, the Pole star continued her winning spree and claimed the top spot back. However, this year Sabalenka was more than ready to see through it until the end.
The World No.1 had a successful run at the Asian swing, which further extended to the WTA Finals. This put her back on the top spot. Sabalenka opened up about the race to the top with the WTA. Reflecting on the last two years, she said, “I wasn’t ready for that sort of pressure, for the expectations and all that stuff. And now, when I went through a lot, I think mentally — which is, I would say, the most important part — I’m more than ready.”

Moreover, Aryna Sabalenka certainly understands what it means to be a world No.1. She said, “Because you’re number one, everyone plays against you like they have nothing to lose. They can play the best game they can do.” Rightly so, the Belarusian star has a target on her back from everyone in the circuit. It would be interesting to see how it would fare next season. But for now, we need to contact the Dancing with the Stars show to fulfill her request!
