Sascha Bajin expresses his frustration on social media on missing electronic line calling
Bajin’s frustration is understandable. In today’s day and age, technology plays a vital role in sports. Electronic line calling has become a common feature in most major tournaments. The system not only ensures that the right calls are made but also speeds up the game. It eliminates the need for players to challenge calls, which can often disrupt the flow of the game.
He posted on his Instagram story, “That was 3:3 & 30:40 so pretty big point in the third set. Pitty that a WTA 500- event does not have Hawkeye on their second biggest court”. Not just Karolina, but a lot of other players have also suffered during crucial matches because of the absence of incorrect utilization of the line calling system. Jelena shared that during her match at the Australian Open, there was something wrong with the line calls. It is so because sometimes when the ball was out by a few centimeters, the system did not call that out.

Also, sometimes the ball was long out, and the system called it after she had already hit the ball. Jelena expressed that this system is not accurate. And she would rather prefer a combination of the Hawkeye system and line umpires. This way there would be much more precise decision-making on the court. It would also not disrupt the flow in which players are playing.
