Prior to the US Open final, Jabeur spoke about the consistency of players in the WTA and ATP. She also spoke about the way the big three of men’s tennis and Serena Williams dominated on the court.

Ons Jabeur compares ATP and WTA

The ‘Big Three’ in tennis, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are three of the top tennis players of all time. Over the years, the constant competition between these three has given some of the most entertaining matches to tennis fans. On the other hand, in the women’s circuit, Serena Williams remained an undisputed champion for a long time. While there were few other significant performers, no one came close to the level of the American legend.

However, the Wimbledon and US Open finalist Ons Jabeur believes that things are changing in WTA and there are consistent performers in the women’s circuit as well. “I think we are just trying to manage and learn how to be more and more consistent. It’s tough to play a lot of tournaments. I feel like, I don’t know, I feel like the difference between men and women is like before, didn’t happen before, but they had Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal. I think maybe now we are going to see like more players coming up,” she said.

She further added, “Before we just had Serena, you know. Serena cannot play all the tournaments, and she was pretty consistent. That really inspired a lot of players.”

Jabeur to face Iga Swiatek in the finals

Talking about consistency, there’s no better example than the current world number 1 Iga Swiatek. The 21-year-old polish has already won two Grand Slam titles in her nascent career. Earlier this year, she won her second French Open title. In the US Open, she will be up against Jabeur in the final.
