40-year-old tennis megastar Serena Williams is one of the most successful figures in all of sports. The 23-time Grand Slam champion has surrounded herself with great people as well, one of whom is her husband, Alexis Ohanian. Ohanian is best-known for having co-founded popular media site Reddit.

Recently, Serena Williams celebrated her husband’s latest achievement, where his venture-capital firm 776 has managed to raise a staggering $500 million.

Serena Williams congratulates husband Alexis Ohanian on ‘being the best’

Serena Williams took to Instagram to congratulate her husband on his latest achievement. With over three dozen investments, Alexis Ohanian’s venture firm is highly profitable.

Moreover, Serena reposted an Instagram video by Alexis where the investor shares that the total assets under the management of his venture firm 776 are now worth $750 million.

Alexis acknowledged that the amount is “just short of $776 million, but we’ll get there soon enough,” he said, smiling. Serena tagged the video on her Instagram stories and wrote “Congratulations on being the best”, right across the video.

Furthermore, Serena also shared a screenshot from the Wall Street Journal. Then, she highlighted her husband’s name next to the number of monetary gains that the company made.

Undoubtedly, Serena must also be very proud of the fact that 776 has ensured that more than half its Limited Partnerships are run by women. Moreover, two-thirds of the institutions backing 776 will be using the gains made by the firm to fund programs that help underserved communities.

Still no word on Serena’s return

Serena Williams has been absent from the WTA tour since her first-round exit in Wimbledon 2021. Facing Aliaksandra Sasnovich at the grass Grand Slam, Serena had injured her leg and exited the tournament.

Owing to her leg injury, she also had to pull out of the US Open. In fact, as the Australian Open approached, many believed that this would surely be the return of the former World No. 1.

However, that was not to be, as Serena withdrew from the Australian Open 2022 as well. She cited that her medical team had not deemed her ready to play at the highest level just yet. Now, there has been no official word or speculation as to when she will return to the court.
