It has been a big couple of weeks for the former World No. 4 Johanna Konta. Just a few days after announcing her retirement, she recently announced that she has gotten married to Jackson Wade, a movie producer. Konta was one of the most prominent players on the WTA Tour.

Soon after she announced the good news to her fans, Caroline Wozniacki, Kim Clijsters, and others sent their warm wishes to the couple. The pair reportedly started their dating life in 2017.

Johanna Konta gets married to boyfriend Jackson Wade

Johanna Konta announced the news via Twitter. ” So… Yesterday I got married,” she tweeted. Konta has previously talked about her relationship with Wade. In an interview with Hello in 2019, Konta quoted, ” My boyfriend empowers me. He encourages me to trust my own decisions and be who I am, because he says I’m awesome so, therefore, I should believe it too.” 

In June, Konta had announced her engagement on Instagram with an image of herself wearing the dazzling ring. “A few weeks ago I woke up 30 and engaged and it’s been all smiles since,” wrote Konta in the caption.

Caroline Wozniacki, Kim Clijsters and others send best wishes

The former Danish professional player and 2018 Australian Open champion, Caroline Wozniacki, wished the couple on their announcement. ” Congratulations,” she commented with a red heart.

The former World No. 1, Kim Clijsters, also took her time to express her warm wishes to the happy couple. Clijsters wrote, “Congrats To the two of you!” The British tennis player, Noami Brady, also extended her congratulations to Konta and Wade, as she posted two red hearts on Twitter.

The tournament director of the upcoming Australian Open, Craig Tiley also commented, “ Congratulations” soon after Konta confirmed the marriage.

Johanna Konta announced her retirement on 1st December 2021 as she said she’s grateful for the career. Throughout her professional tenure, Konta achieved four WTA titles with a career-high ranking of World No. 4 in July 2017.

Surely, the presence of such a big star will be missed on the WTA tour. We wish Johanna Konta a happy retirement with her husband, Jackson Wade.
