Emma Raducanu is no stranger to turning heads, whether it’s for her groundbreaking US Open win or her rollercoaster journey on the WTA circuit. But lately, the British star has been treading through uncharted waters. After grappling with injury setbacks last year—and carrying those challenges into the start of this season—fans were eager to see her bounce back. Her return to Australia sparked hope, especially after notching two wins. Yet, her third-round AO exit left many wondering when Emma would hit her stride again. And just when her fans thought things might turn around, another shocker came at the Singapore Tennis Open, where Emma faced an early exit, leaving her supporters heartbroken.
The British tennis sensation took on Cristina Bucșa in the first round of the tournament. Raducanu started the match remarkably and easily won the first set. However, that was where her challenges began. In the match that continued for over 3 hours, Raducanu fired 7 double faults and looked to be on the back foot throughout. Eventually, she failed to achieve victory and was ousted in three sets 7-5, 5-7, 5-7. Now, it seems that her fans are completely disappointed by her performances.
Taking to X, journalist and tennis commentator Jose Morgado shared a screenshot of the result of the match and wrote, “A very tough over 3h loss for Emma Raducanu in Singapore…” This quickly gained traction and an influx of several fans started, who expressed immense disappointment in the star player.

Taking to X, one user wrote, “Winning GS at such a young age (when nobody expected) was too much for Raducanu. She was overwhelmed with fame, big money from ads and completely forgot about her tennis improvement.” Emma Raducanu clinched the US Open title in 2021 as a wildcard. However, she has struggled to demonstrate similar grit since then, and a major reason behind this is her frequent absence. from the tour. Now, with her health woes still in place, and Raducanu still struggling to perform, fans are expressing their disappointment.
She’s now just a hobbyist. Made too much money from sponsorships to care anymore. Will never win another slam.

Responding to the post, another user wrote, “Can we stop trying to make Raducanu happen? It’s not going to happen.” Raducanu has failed to win any title on the WTA tour since her US Open victory. In the last season, her best run came at Nottingham where she qualified for the semi-finals. Besides, her campaign at the Grand Slams was not amazing either with the Brit reaching to the fourth round of Wimbledon and being ousted in the first round of New York. Hence, fans were hoping to see her rule again this year, but her struggles have continued, angering her them. Several more people joined the fray with similar sentiments.
“Shes a hypejob, shes probably better off going down the Genie Bouchard route and becoming a model and playing Pickleball,” wrote another user. Interestingly, Emma Raducanu was quite excited about the ongoing season. Speaking after her remarkable campaign at the Billie Jean King Cup last year, where she won all her five matches – Raducanu expressed her determination to shine again. “I feel like I have had four, five weeks off tennis, and I don’t really need any more time off,” she said adding that she was “itching” to play again soon,” she said. After her semi-final loss to Madison Keys, a clip was shared on social media in which, Swiatek was mocked for her time-wasting tactics on Keys’ serve and getting aced subsequently. Now, Raducanu’s liking of the post was not received well by the fans, and the reactions have continued.
