The former tennis player, Navratilova is very active on her social media as she loves to converse with her fans and fellow tennis athletes. Recently, some tennis fans were involved in a debate on the legacies of two tennis greats from different eras. They juxtaposed the greatness of Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams. It was Navratilova who intervened in their social media discussion by offering her opinion.
Martina Navratilova compares tennis players from different eras
There was a ‘G.O.A.T.’ debate going on between some tennis fans as they were comparing the two tennis greats – Williams and Navratilova. One tennis fan believed that Navratilova was the front-runner in the ‘G.O.A.T.’ debate since her stats were considerably superior to those of Williams.
While some fans believe Serena Williams is the greatest tennis athlete as her consistent brilliance is unrivaled by any other athlete. However, it was Navratilova who intervened in the conversation as she was intrigued by the ongoing debate. She appreciated her fans for putting her at the top of the list of the greatest female tennis players. Navratilova stated, “You could be right on that, I don’t know. I think it is human nature to think what we have now is the best, period. Comparing eras is just silly IMO. If Alcaraz were born 50 years earlier, he would not have played the same way he plays now. But thank you in any case:)”

However, the former Czech–American tennis player added that it was ‘silly’ to compare two tennis players from different eras. She also mentioned the US Open winner, Carlos Alcaraz. She further added that if Alcaraz had played in her generation, he would not have performed the way he does now.

Navratilova on Roger Federer’s retirement
The Czech–American tennis legend, Martina Navratilova posted an emotional message for Roger Federer after the Swiss tennis legend announced his decision to retire. Navratilova took to Twitter to praise the elegance with which Federer played tennis on the court.

She tweeted an emotional message for the Swiss Maestro. Navratilova commended him for his magical style of playing tennis on the court. She also mentioned that Federer played the sport with great passion and respect.
