Ben Shelton, Coco Gauff, and Chris Eubanks, three American stars’ unique bond often sparks conversations among fans. As they frequently travel together, their camaraderie is evident, especially during their escapades in escape rooms. Despite their shared enthusiasm for these challenges, Shelton’s puzzle-solving skills are notoriously lacking, a fact he readily admits. Adding to the dynamic is the presence of Chris Eubanks’ girlfriend, Anna Mitchell, who joins the trio in their escape room adventures. Gauff, in particular, has been vocal about Shelton being “a little inconsistent”, humorously dubbing him the worst of the quartet.

After hearing the claims often, the 21-year-old has finally responded. He sat down with Tennis Channel’s Prakash Amritraj after defeating Pavel Kotov 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to praise Gauff’s mental ability. “The squad is still together. We’re doing well, Coco’s always going to give me a hard time and say that she’s the MVP, but. But. But she’s very good. I’ll give her. I’ll give her props, and I’m a little inconsistent.”

Regardless of the inconsistencies, Shelton believes he is improving, and it works as a great mental exercise. “I’m up and down depending on the day, but. But I’m improving, you know, mental exercise for us.” The monster server claims that he is still improving, but Gauff does not let it get to his head. Before they arrived in Europe, they had taken part in two escape rooms, which saw Shelton excelling in one.

During the Miami Open, Gauff revealed, “We did one in Melbourne, and definitely Ben was the strongest, I would say that day, which was surprising because we all thought he was going to suck, but he was pretty good, and then we did another one in Indian Wells, and I think me and Anna was the strongest.” They would continue the tradition in the clay swing.

Coco Gauff resorted to her own Instagram account to share a video of the trio having fun in an Escape Room. They were joined by Chris Eubanks’ girlfriend, Anna Mitchell. The 2023 US Champion shared a picture of the three with the caption, “escape room goats.” She included four goat emojis, one for each of them. Shelton eventually shared Gauff’s tale on his official Instagram account. 

Along with their escape room outings, we can see the banter of the three tennis stars on their respective social media pages. Gauff recently teased Shelton on his Instagram post, where she says, “should’ve posted your mugshot pic.”

As the three continue to roam the world together, we will see more moments from them together. With the French Open following up after the Italian Open, will we see them tackle an escape room in Paris?
