Coco Gauff‘s family is full of sports enthusiasts! The American tennis star has earned laurels by pocketing last year’s US Open singles title and made waves after clinching the 2024 French Open doubles crown. Undeniably, the young athlete has scripted a unique place in tennis with her formidable on-court performances. However, she isn’t the only member of her family blessed with athletic prowess.

Notably, her younger brother Codey is bringing fame to the Gauff name in his style. Only this time, the sport is different. The youngster has been setting impressive landmarks for himself in high school baseball. This, in turn, has elicited a reaction from their mother Candi, who is proud of her son’s on-field skills!

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Candi Gauff posted a photo of her son posing with a baseball bat on the field. It is worth noting that earlier this season the San Diego Padres Scout Team included Codey in their roster. To much amazement, he made the most of the opportunity and handed the team a win during his first appearance. However, this isn’t the first time his parents have heaped praise on the young talent.

While speaking to ‘USA Baseball’ on June 22, Codey’s father Corey Gauff expressed his elation witnessing his children reach new impressive heights in their respective careers. “Codey played football for a little bit and some basketball, kind of arriving at baseball a little bit later in life than Coco did with tennis, but they both worked hard growing up. They both have unique skill sets in their respective sports. It’s been great to watch them grow.”

After finessing Alycia Parks in the third round of the 2024 Australian Open, the World No. 2 opened up about the advice she received from Codey which proved beneficial for her in several matches – and also helped her triumph at Flushing Meadows. “You have to treat it that it’s as far away as it is if you’re in the first round. That’s what I approached that final with. I approached it as I need to win seven matches again and then I’ll get it. It was actually something my brother told me, which is crazy.”

Indeed, it will be intriguing to witness Codey producing similar results as his elder sister in his respective sport. Meanwhile, Coco Gauff is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Paris Olympics which commences on Friday, July 26. Hopefully, with this, the American stands a healthy chance at bringing glory to her nation – and clinching a gold medal would certainly do the trick!
