Coco Gauff’s Thanksgiving started in an out-of-the-box fashion, as she celebrated cousins’ giving instead. Playing the host, the 20-year-old even made sweet potato pie for the first time, along with banana bread for her guests. However, this was just the beginning of the most important holiday. As the day went on, Gauff revealed her hidden talent (other than cooking) to the fans through her social media posts, before ending the day on a grateful note.

After finishing the season with the WTA Finals title, Gauff made sure to spend some quality time with her loved ones during the off-season. The World No.3 turned into a host to welcome her family for Thanksgiving. And it was a blast for everyone. The cousins enjoyed homemade delicacies, but the highlight of the day was Coco Gauff channeling her inner Rihanna, as she tried her hands on karaoke.

The 2023 US Open champion shared a TikTok video of herself singing Rihanna’s Kiss It Better with her two sisters. However, as the night proceeded, the scene shifted from cousins to the entire family. Coco Gauff shared an Instagram story to cap off her Thanksgiving. The clip captured the elders in the family dancing and singing songs, enjoying the occasion. It was an overdose of family love and affection. As Gauff rightly captioned the snippet, Family over everything.”

Last year, during the US Open, Gauff opened up about her support system: her family. She said, “They’re just really my support system. They’re helping me remember, you know, my clothes and everything, and my dad is still sending me scouting reports for every match. But my mom is more so, you know, just being a mom. My dad just being dad other than the scouting report part.”

2023 was a successful season for Gauff, as she claimed her first Grand Slam title on her home turf. But this season, she couldn’t quite live up to the expectations, as she faced numerous early-round exits since the Paris Olympics. However, her family had her back throughout. It was only fitting that she enjoyed a great time with her family on Thanksgiving. Everyone was present to honor the night, from the youngest to the eldest member. Gauff later shared another sweet snippet with her grandfather, Eddie Odom, in her stories.

Coco Gauff seems to have a close-knit family and yesterday was a special day for Gauff, as her new abode was filled with familial love. In October, Gauff updated her fans about another milestone. The 20-year-old moved out of her parent’s home. She said, “Life update: bought a house a few months ago. Cheers to being a homeowner at 20. All glory to God.” And everything was ready in time for Thanksgiving, as she turned host for her family.

However, the special moment that certainly warmed everyone’s heart came with her Grand Dad. She captured the memory in a frame, as they both smiled at the camera. Gauff posted it with the caption, “Grand Dad💜”

For the unversed, Gauff’s grandfather has been involved in sports in the past. He made a name for himself in baseball, at the Delray Beach American Little League. That’s not all. Gauff’s Grand Dad worked in mission mode to make ports accessible to all. For this purpose, he started Little League for black kids in the 1970s, when the facilities weren’t easily available. However, that’s in the past, he now takes great pride in his granddaughter’s achievements, and why not? Coco Gauff has brought laurels to her family with her performances on the court.
