How far can a person go to fulfill their dream? There are no limits that can be defined as athletes pushing themselves every second of the day to be better than everyone in the world. However, this is not about practice, but rather participating in the Olympics, and fighting for the ultimate glory, to be at the top of the world. Coco Gauff doesn’t want to let go of any chance to ensure that the Olympic gold is within her reach. But the question that crops up is: How would she navigate through the uncharted territory?
When Gauff entered Roland Garros back in June, she certainly thought to take over her arch-nemesis and claim the title in singles. However, she fell short of doing that, but Gauff did claim the clay court glory in women’s doubles. And it seems that the win inspired her to enter the doubles in the Olympics too. Though it is more of a routine thing as she regularly plays doubles, being the winner on the court certainly makes it sweet.
However, this time she is taking things another step further, playing not only singles, and women’s doubles but also mixed doubles. The choice could come to bite her back as the schedule, and a number of matches could take a toll on her. A tennis fan shared the mixed doubles coupling on their X account. And guess who is the World No.2 paired with? The top American tennis gentleman, Taylor Fritz. Could the duo create magic im Paris? Only time will tell, but everyone is certainly eager to see how this dangerous draw would fare for the 20-year-old.

Some may call it over-ambitious, while for some it may be a death wish, as fitness stands at the top for every athlete. A small hiccup could lead to travel back in time to several months, to recover and regain their form. How would Gauff navigate through this? Maybe her blazing fire could aid her as she looks for gold.
“Let it illuminate your future”- says Coco Gauff as she heads to the Paris Olympics
Gauff was ready to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. However, bad luck reigned in, as she contacted COVID-19. But all that is in the past, as she is ready to bury the ghosts of her unfulfilled desire in Tokyo with her performance in Paris. What’s more, she is ready to win, and do whatever it takes to come out at the top. She is ready to illuminate her future, with the strong fire to win, burning inside her.

During her interview with the NBC Olympics, Gauff revealed her mindset for Paris. She said, “Your outlook isn’t defined by the lines painted on the court; it’s solidified by your convictions. Stay strong in who you are, and what you want to communicate with the world. In those times that the world doubts you – don’t let it frustrate you. Let it fuel you. No one can dim your light as long you believe in it. As you hoist that silver trophy at the U.S. Open, your fire will never be brighter. Let it illuminate your future.”
It seems this is what is driving the World No.2 to enter into 3 categories at the Olympics. To win her medal, and if things go her way if the fire burned brighter than ever, we could see a miracle at the Paris, with not one or two, but three medals!
