Despite the Paris Olympic Games not going as she would’ve liked, Coco Gauff is back and running. The American tennis sensation suffered disappointing defeats in all three formats, singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles in Paris. As a result, she had to return empty-handed from the mega-event. Nonetheless, Gauff has an important part of the season coming up and she will be seen in action at the Canadian Open this week. Ahead of the tournament, Gauff opened up about precious advice received from her father.

Corey father has been a massive pillar of support throughout his daughter’s career. Due to this, she could pursue her tennis ambitions and came thus far. Additionally, Coco has been a massive inspiration to athletes of color with her utter domination on the court. Following her participation in the Olympic Games, Gauff made a notable observation which she revealed during an interview at the Canadian Open.

The American sensation said, “If anything like I’ve learned in the past Olympics it’s really the female athletes that are getting most of the attention when it comes to media like all I’m hearing about this the women’s swimming… sports like tennis continuing to push that because I will say tennis is the forefront of equal pay.”

Further, Gauff revealed how this observation was crucial not just in sports but in every other workplace, in general. She went on to add, “I think it’s just not only like in sports but in every workplace in general I mean obviously that’s not only a thing that goes on in sports but other workplaces and I think just as women just continue to support each other and starting our own businesses that’s one of the things I want to do. If they won’t give you a way you make your own way and that’s something that my dad taught me.”
