Coco Gauff previously took the spotlight at her home Grand Slam event, where she achieved something historic on the court. After overcoming Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set championship match at the US Open, the 19-year-old became the first teenager to secure the major crown after her idol, Serena Williams. In an interview with the Tennis Channel, Gauff was asked about the coolest thing that she has gotten to do after becoming the newly crowned US Open champion. She said, “I didn’t really do anything that cool afterward, to be honest. I mean, the messages are like crazy that you get from celebrities and stuff that you watch.”

In addition to receiving a flurry of messages from celebrities, the 19-year-old also received a huge surprise from Zendaya that turned out to be the ‘coolest thing’ for her. Gauff added, “The coolest thing that happened to me, I think was Zendaya sending me flowers to my house. It was like a huge bouquet of flowers and my brother and I had to lift it up to the table. I think it weighed at least 50 pounds; it was so heavy. I think it was the coolest thing.”

Apart from being surprised with a huge bouquet of flowers, the reigning Grand Slam champion experienced another “cool thing.”
