Coco Gauff Reminisces Venus and Serena Williams? Triumph Ahead of Wimbledon Championships 2022

Coco Gauff has been one of the rising stars on the WTA Tour this season. With a finals appearance at Roland Garros last month, the 18-year-old has shown glimpses of her potential in her relatively young career.

Currently, Gauff is ranked 12th in the world and 3rd in the WTA Race to Shenzhen 2022. However, she comes into the Wimbledon Championships in good form hoping to make a deep run in the tournament.

Coco Gauff excited to play on Centre Court at Wimbledon

After reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2019 and 2021, Gauff will look to continue her impressive run in Paris over to the grass courts of SW19. The American shared a photo of a young version of herself watching the Williams sisters’ victory on Centre Court in 2012.

The caption reads, “A dream of glory on Centre Court, born in Atlanta. A Century of Dreams.” Gauff added her own words to it saying, “Dreams come true… Never stop dreaming.”?Gauff who hails from Atlanta, Georgia has seen her fellow American counterparts dominate the sport over the last two decades.

Serena and Venus Williams won their 5th Wimbledon doubles title in 2012, beating Andrea Hlav??kov?and?Lucie Hradeck? 7?5, 6?4 in the final. In the singles, the sisters have won a combined 12 Grand Slam titles during their careers.

Will Gauff continue her impressive run at Wimbledon?

The young star reached the semi-finals of the WTA Berlin Open losing to eventual champion Ons Jabeur, ahead of Wimbledon. However, Gauff has already won two WTA titles in her career, after winning the Linz Open in 2019 and the Emilia-Romagna Open in 2021.

With an impressive run this year helping her reach her best ranking, she is the 11th seed going into Wimbledon. At 18, Gauff has a long way to go before she achieves more titles in her career. But, she is definitely on the right path to becoming a future Grand Slam champion.
