Last year in February, Coco Gauff’s season started with a heartbreak. At the Australian Open, Gauff crashed out in the semifinal, losing to Aryna Sabalenka, who avenged her loss to Coco at the US Open 2023. The reigning US Open champion had to take some time off to process the defeat. But support was right there for her. Coco had later told to Sky Sports Tennis that her boyfriend, rumored to be Jalen Sera, had her at that point.
“I would say that the first night I was like still thinking about the things that went on in that match. You know, I felt like it was decided by a couple of points. And then after that, I flew home and then what did I do? Oh, I took off like four days; four-five days. My boyfriend came to town so I hung out with him,” Coco had revealed. One year down the line, one more not-so-great start to the season, and Sera seems to be there once again to support Coco when she needs it the most.
Coco’s 2025 season has not panned out according to expectations. Following constant setbacks in Australia and the entire Middle East swing, she failed to impress in the Sunshine Double as well this month. The World No.3 and 2023 US Open champion crashed out of the Miami Open earlier this week after losing the R16 against Magda Linette. Reflecting on her loss in straight sets (4-6, 4-6) against Linette in R16, she said, “It wasn’t great today, it hasn’t been the last two weeks, so I’m just trying to figure that out,” reported The New York Times on March 25. “Just one of those days I felt off on everything.”

Though her Miami Open tennis run has ended, Coco Gauff is finding joy off the court, exploring the city. And it seems Sera might be there to share the experience. Gauff took to her Instagram account on Wednesday and shared a story featuring a post from her Atlanta-born BF and musician. It consisted of multiple pictures suggesting that Gauff and he explored different places and spent precious moments together. He captioned the post, “Soflooo 🌊🌴☀️🎾🥞🐈💚”
One snapshot shows Sera holding a Miami Open tennis ball, while another captures them on a boat. Adding to the charm, he also shared a cute photo with cats, tagged at the Miami Beach Club, and a beautiful evening scene with palm trees and the moon. Even in the comments section, they were busy having a loving chit-chat. Reacting to Sera’s post, Gauff reacted, “flawdaaa” to which her beau replied, “@cocogauff flawdaaaa. my townnnnn!!!!!” Gauff then wrote, “@jalensera tryna switch sides like your boy”

Fun fact: Although Coco never clearly mentioned Sera as her boyfriend, last April, in an interview with Time, she publicly revealed that she’s had her “first real relationship.” Not only that, she had also stated that having someone who is not into tennis helped her to reset her mind. “To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective,” Coco had added.
Her words could not be more true since this had helped her big time ahead of the US Open 2023. Coco was nervous in the night before the tournament, and it was her boyfriend who came to her rescue. “Honestly, I didn’t have any of those visions [of winning] till last night. You know, I thought about it, but I told myself to get it out of my head, because that’s what I did at [the] French [Open]. I was envisioning, you know, what would happen if I would win. I think I wanted it too much.

“Last night, I started a little bit, but honestly, I just called my boyfriend, and I told him: ‘Let’s talk until it’s time to go to sleep.’ So we spoke until 1:00 a.m., and then I went to sleep,” Coco had revealed.
Well now, Coco Gauff must be feeling happy to reunite with Sera following a hectic month of tennis action. But you know what? There was another reason that made her happy earlier this month, thanks to her BF.
Rumored BF Jalen Sera shared a heartfelt birthday message for Coco Gauff
Coco Gauff couldn’t make her 21st birthday memorable on the court. Why so? Just a day before her birthday, the World No.3 lost a crucial R16 match against Belinda Bencic in the Indian Wells. But Jalen Sera soon made her forget the disappointment with a heartwarming, loving message while wishing her.

Sera took to his IG account and wrote, “Happy birthdayyyy @cocogauff Big 21! I hope it’s your best one yet.” Apart from that, he posted a picture of them playing arcade games, relishing the fun they had. Before her birthday, Sera even delighted her with a precious Valentine’s Day gift. What was it, though?
Last month, Gauff put up a story on IG where she showed off a bouquet alongside a message from Sera. It simply read, “Happy Valentine’s Day, star! I love you. What we have will mean everything to me, forever and always.” Quoting a song by Sade, it further added, “It’s all about our love, so shall it be forever, never ending.”
Remember how last year they went for an outing? The couple had a blast at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, headed by none other than Tyler, the Creator, on the Dodger Stadium grounds. After grooving to the songs, Gauff opted to have some thrill. And then she went to play arcade games alongside Sera. She even flaunted her gaming skills while revealing how much she enjoyed the Pac-Man series. “ya’ll can’t touch me in ms.pac man and galaga”, she wrote in an IG story last November.
